Matt Mervis is a professional baseball player who currently plays as a first baseman and outfielder in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. He was born on April 26, 1998, in Chicago, Illinois. Mervis played college baseball at Duke University, where he was a standout player for the Blue Devils.
In June 2019, Mervis was selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 2019 MLB Draft in the 39th round. He signed with the Cubs and played in their minor league system before being traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates in July 2021.
